ANDROMEDA Project
ANDROMEDA (A New integrateD hydROgeological Model to assEss landsliDes and flood prone Areas in Oltrepò Pavese) is a project funded by Fondazione Cariplo, aiming to develop and implement an integrated model for the identification of the triggering moment of shallow landslides and floods in several pilot basins of the Oltrepò Pavese. It is basing on innovative methodologies, which use satellite data to measure rainfall amounts and soil water content. The model will be also considered as a prototypal early warning system tool for actions of civil protection and for the reduction of the hydrogeological risks.
The project is carried out by DSTA and DICAR of the University of Pavia and by CNR-IRPI. It started officially in 1 May 2018 and it lasts 30 months. ANDROMEDA (A New integrateD hydROgeological Model to assEss landsliDes and flood prone Areas in Oltrepò Pavese – Un nuovo modello idrogeologico integrato per l’individuazione delle aree soggette a frane e alluvioni nell’Oltrepò Pavese) è un progetto finanziato da Fondazione Cariplo, che si occuperà di mettere a punto un metodo per l’individuazione dei momenti di innesco di frane superficiali e alluvioni in alcuni bacini campione dell’Oltrepò Pavese, basandosi su modelli innovativi che sfruttino anche dati satellitari di piogge e umidità del terreno. Da questo, deriverà un prototipo di sistema di allerta per la definizione delle aree a maggiore rischio idrogeologico.
Il progetto è realizzato da DSTA e DICAR dell’Università di Pavia e da CNR-IRPI ed è partito ufficialmente l’1 Maggio 2018.
